The gentle warmth of mocha, the creamy richness of mousse – these aren't just delectable dessert descriptors, they're the heart of our recent styled wedding shoot, a glimpse into the trending palettes of 2025 and beyond. Inspired by the soft, earthy tones stemming from Pantone's colour of the year 'MOCHA MOUSSE', we set out to create a visual feast, showcasing how this elegant theme can translate into a truly unforgettable wedding day.
And what a day it was! We gathered a team of incredibly talented local suppliers at the stunning Swallows Nest Barn, a venue whose rustic elegance provided the perfect canvas for our vision. This charming barn, with its exposed beams, modern glass windows providing warmth from the sunshine beaming through, contemporary and inviting atmosphere, proved to be the ideal backdrop for our "Mocha Mousse" dream.
Capturing the Essence: Jen, Our Visionary Photographer
At the heart of our shoot was the brilliant Jen from Captured moments by Jen, our photographer and videographer. Jen's talent for capturing the essence of a moment is truly remarkable. Here's Jens inspiration behind the shoot.

"I wanted to make use of the cosy, indoor spaces at swallows nest barn. The warm tones and fairy lights really complimented our colour theme of mocha mousse. I used two focal lengths, a 50mm for the portraits and a 12-24mm to capture the wide shots of the whole barn.
Our first bride, Sophie, had a romantic and elegant look. Showcasing a dress with lots of lace, pearls and detail. Because of this, I wanted to keep the poses more relaxed and simple to show off her look in a dreamy way. Posing her among the florals, capturing some wide shots of her in the barn which allowed us to show off the train of the dress.

Our second bride, Stacey, Had a more modern and contemporary style. To compliment this look, we opted for editorial and creative poses. Attached to Stacey's dress was a cape in which Stacey was able to use to create movement in her poses. The movement of the cape created a dramatic feel in photographs and video especially with the use of wide focal length which accentuated her contemporary look.
I also experimented with posing both models together in interesting ways, such as having them lean on each other and facing opposite ways to each other, showing off both bridal looks together in one photo. I also did a series of direct flash photographs to create a fun, night time party feel.

As well as model shots, I captured flat lay and detail shots of bespoke jewellery, shoes, bouquets and cake. I edited the photographs with a bright and airy, colourful and film like aesthetic."

For makeup, I, Danielle Louise Artistry, had the pleasure of crafting the makeup looks for our two stunning models. Drawing inspiration from the warm, natural tones of the "Mocha Mousse" theme, I created two similar looks that were unique in their own way.

Firstly, for our model Sophie, A softer, effortlessly glowing look that enhanced her natural beauty. This clean girl aesthetic is a hot, on trend look for the modern bride who wants to look naturally elevated while still giving "I'm a Bride" vibes. Creating flawless skin using charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin foundation and softly sculpting her naturally exquisite cheekbones using milk makeup bronzer, Giorgio Armani luminous silk concealer and my favourite rare beauty blushes.

For Clean girl eyes, it's less about intense eyeshadows and all about impactful lashes. Creating a brightening effect, while keeping the theme of mocha mousse, A champagne and mocha shimmer was used to help create a touch of depth to the outer corners and catch the light perfectly. I paired this bridal eye look with a brown gel liner, creating a winged effect to further lift Sophie's eyes. Sophie's light features inspired me to choose this look. A makeup look that not only complimented her tones but also the lace detailing of her dress, showcasing a softer lighter version of polished glamour.
For Stacey, With her dark features, sophisticated and elegant dress, statement earrings and simplistic slick hair style for inspiration. Something more glamorous with more contrast was the perfect look for this ensemble. A polished high glamour makeup look, inspired by Arabian bridal culture was the inspiration behind Stacey's look, emphasising that glamourous makeup is the perfect choice when looking for a high end, expensive feel and finish on your wedding day.

Framing the eyes with a statement eyeliner together with deeper mocha tones from my Natasha Denona palette together with a bespoke set of individual lashes really created an impact for Stacey's look. Sculpting the face is always one of my favourite parts that brings a makeup look together. Using the charlotte tilbury beautiful skin foundation again, creating a glowy finish. Paired with the Dior backstage glow palette to ensure a radiant bridal glow from within that translates perfectly in the photographs,

The focus for both brides was creating a flawless finish that would photograph beautifully within the different lighting set ups including the editorial flash photography style photographs our photographer was taking.
And of course, focusing on creating makeup that made our brides feel confident and beautiful in front of the camera.

Sarah from The Bay Tree Florals brought a touch of Romance and elegance with her stunning dried floral displays. Here was Sarah's inspiration for the shoot:

"I wanted to create a romantic, earthy and timeless atmosphere. The soft delicate texture of the bunny tails added a whimsical touch, evoking lightness and smoothness. Pampas grass brought in a natural, organic feel, with its feathery plumes complementing the fluidity and elegance of both dresses.
The preserved brown ferns introduced a bold but warm, vintage vibe, grounding the palette in earthy tones while offering depth and texture. Artificial champagne roses were selected for their subtle, sophisticated colour, symbolising classic beauty and love.

Together, these elements were curated to evoke the creamy, indulgent tones of mocha mousse. This combination of textures and hues complimented the gorgeous barn location, where rustic charm and natural elegance blended seamlessly to create the perfect backdrop for this shoot."
